Sound Machines for CHoR

I have been an inpatient pediatric RN at Children's Hospital of Richmond for almost three years. Recently I returned from my maternity leave and had a new perspective on what it's like for a baby and their family in a hospital setting. There are SO many things that many parents rely on to help their babies at sleep. One of my personal essentials with my daughter is a white noise machine. As I've taken care of patients since going back to work, there have been many instances where I've cared for young infants who have difficulty sleeping in the hospital, which in turns makes it difficult for them to heal and grow. I contacted our fantastic Child Life department to find out what tools they could use, and they said they would love more sound machines for the inpatient units. As the holidays approach I wanted to do something positive for Children's Hospital of Richmond that will help babies and their families for years to come. I thought this Christmas season instead of spending money on things I don't need, I could give a little to make the hopsital a more peaceful place for the littlest patients. I would love to raise $400 by Christmas to donate at least 20  HoMedics SoundSpa Sound Machines (the type requested by Child Life) to Children's Hospital of Richmond.
