Soraya is a rescued Doberman who was a breeding dog at the former puppy mill, Family Dobes and she has become a well-known and excellent ambassador for the Doberman breed.
Because the abuse she suffered was discovered once she arrived in her new home, she was instrumental in getting the puppy mill shut down. During her time at Family Dobes, she produced 6 litters in 4 1/2 years resulting in over 40 puppies and over $100,000 in revenue to the breeder. No rest for this girl but her determination, strength of character and will to live kept her alive with little or no vet care when she needed it. She was fed low-quality food, even when she was feeding her puppies. She gave all she had to raise her puppies in a high-stress environment. The breeder would use a cattle prod on the dogs when they barked. But now, Soraya has a happy home.
On the morning of 4/18/17, she was completely unable to walk or even stand. With the help of friends and the Doberman community, she had an MRI which revealed Wobblers and had her first surgery 4/25/17. As of 5/30/17, Soraya is greatly improved but still needs the second surgery. Her family needs assistance with the huge cost. Your donation is greatly appreciated.

The total goal amount reflects the surgery costs and Physical Therapy (to help her regain her sense of balance, center of gravity and muscle mass). Any unused funds will be donated to a non-profit Doberman Rescue organization to be determined. The surgery is tentatively scheduled for June 15, 2017.
