SophieBean needs surgery...

As many of you know, our sweet SophieBean is very ill. She wasn’t feeling well Monday, Feb 12th. A visit to Dr Secter at Shelby Street Veterinary Hospital revealed severely elevated liver levels. She was referred to the specialist at Care Center Vet in Blue Ash. We saw Dr Doyle, Friday, Feb 16th. The ultrasound did not show good news. She has a gall bladder mucocele; her gallbladder needs to be removed before it starts to leak into her abdominal cavity or it ruptures.
She also has an enlarged spleen and enlarged liver. The liver has multiple nodules. They did a fine needle aspiration to obtain some cells to send to pathology. We have an appt for a surgical consult Monday Feb 19th with Dr Muldoon at Care Center to discuss the surgery. But if the pathology shows cancerous cells, surgery may not be an option.
She’s such a good girl!! She is a loving, gentle cuddle bug who loves unconditionally. She loves to fetch her disc and chase squirrels. She is my bestie!
