"Sometimes Why" is the debut feature film from director/writer Dileepan Ganesan. His short film, "The Girl On The Bicycle" was made on a shoestring budget, yet earned Ganesan the Best New Filmmaker award at Anthology Film Archive (incidentally this was the only contest the film was submitted for, a perfect batting average!).
Written in the winter of 2016, "Sometimes Why" is a love story that in itself is a love letter to New York, and more specifically, the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Greenpoint and Williamsburg. The film follows two twenty somethings, whose lives undergo profound change through their meeting and subsequent relationship. At heart a pair of dreamers, their dreams morph and evolve as the film ensues.
Shooting will commence the first week of June 2017, with co producer D'angelo Thompson.
Unfortunately, making a film in New York is not cheap. Even actors have to eat!! With your help, we can afford to get the best talent and crew in the city.
We have a bunch of great names already lined up. We just need the extra push and with each donation to our GoFundMe campaign , we have special incentives.
