Solidarity Fund for Nicaragua

The last 90 days of protests have completely changed the Nicaraguan social and political field. It has also cost the lives of +350 peaceful protestors, the majority college students.  

This Solidarity Fund is designed to help grassroots organizations with their logistical and material needs. This fund will be supervised by a committee of 6 women of Managua who have direct contact with different organizations that have been active non-stop since this all began. They will meet with delegates from different sectors in order to distribute micro-funds depending on needs.

Some immediate and future needs to support protesters and organizers in the streets and in safe houses:

-Medical Supplies (Med kits, Medical Trainning)
-Phone Call Credits
-Transportation needs (Taxis, Gas)
-Food for caravans of folks that enter Managua
-Printing Budget
-Independent Journalism (Video, Text)
-Materials for Banners and Art Supplies (Spray Paint, Craft)
-Support for families of Political Prisoners
-Clean up and reforestation efforts
-Infographics
-Communications 
-Refugee Support in Costa Rica
-Cultural Events

In full transparency, my name is Lukas La Riviere and I am a United States citizen currently living in the US; however, I have many close friends living and working in Nicaragua and have been keeping close communication with them about what has been going on and helping with outreach to international media.
