Soldaditos de Jesus Soup Kitchen

Greetings,

Soldaditos de Jesus or SDJ for short is a Children’s Ministry established in 1995 by Daniel and Eliana Kusak. What started as a small radio program on Saturday mornings for kids has turned into an International Ministry. SDJ has visited more than 8 different Latin American Countries including Mexico, El Salvador and Honduras to name a few. However, it was Nicaragua that captured the hearts of Daniel and Eliana or as the kids call them Tio (uncle) Danny and Tia (aunty) Eliana.

In 2005, SDJ visited Nicaragua for the first time, to share the love of Jesus to the children and their families.  After seeing the poverty in the small village of Condega, God placed it on their hearts to open a soup kitchen.

In 2006, SDJ returned to Nicaragua along with a couple of others, with the vision of opening that soup kitchen. God provided a vacant building that was previously occupied by a soup kitchen. After a lot of renovations and a fresh coat of paint SDJ Soup Kitchen opened on August 10, 2006 and its first meal was served the next day.

For almost twelve years, SDJ is honored to say “we have fed over 200,000 plates of food to the children of this community.” Tia Eliana says “you don’t understand poverty unless you have seen it.” For some of these kids this is the only meal they will eat all day. This doesn’t just stop with food. What about clothing? Underwear? Socks? Shoes? School Supplies? The list can go on and on! Thanks to monthly supports and generous donors we can provide these items. Just last year SDJ was also given the opportunity to buy and deliver 25 mattresses to needy families. The only beds these families knew were cardboard and dirt floor.

SDJ is heading to Nicaragua on  August 2018 taking a long an entourage of puppets, music, skits and so much more! This year’s objective is simple “share the love of Christ with everyone we come in contact with.” SDJ is planning on returning to the community with the 25 families, with the intentions of digging a well. The other objective is, to locate and purchase a new piece of land for a new future soup kitchen. As you can tell, this will be an awesome mission’s trip.

First and foremost, please pray for SDJ and their team as they will be going this year to fulfill the “Great Commission” in Nicaragua.  In addition, please pray that the People of this country will see the love of Jesus Christ, through SDJ and accept Him as their Lord and Savior.

Secondly, please prayerfully consider becoming a generous donor.  We truly appreciate any amount. These funds will be used solely for locate and purchase a new piece of land for a new future soup kitchen.
“I pray that the Lord will bless you abundantly for your generosity” Tio Daniel.

Thank you for your prayers and financial gifts.

In love and appreciation, God Bless you always, and thank you for your support.
