Solar energy for poor families
The Rash Family is a Maya family in a remote area of Belize where there is no access to electricity. The children now do their homework with dangerous kerosene lanterns or candles. For $480US, the Rash family will receive a complete solar electric system, including a solar panel, an excellent battery, a controller, a solar fan, a charger station, and 4 LED lights. This will greatly help this family and positively effect the lives of these children as they will be able to safely study in the evening after farm chores are done. This project will be implemented via solarfamilies.org who is helping families throughout Belize to acquire essential energy. See our website to hear from some of the families who have been recipients in 2018. Any assistance toward these efforts is greatly needed and appreciated.
