Help BHC Get a Knitting Machine!

$2,500 goal

Hand-knit socks are some of the coziest, warmest ways to care about someone. Whether they are made for yourself or for someone else, the recipient is always grateful. Hand-knit socks, however, take time that one does not always have.

With support, Burke House Crafts is looking to purchase a sock knitting machine from a reputable manufacturer, Erlbacher Gearhart.

The fund goal includes the machine, spare parts that are not included in the price. It also includes funds for yarn to begin making socks for purchase. With my knowledge of quality yarns as a knitter, the materials will not be anything that I would not be willing to use on myself and/or others. The majority of the yarn will be natural fibers such as wool, alpaca, and cotton as much as possible (some sock yarns contain nylon for strength).
I love to knit, but would definitely need some sort of surgery in the future if I tried to hand-knit socks on a large production scale! With a machine, I can still make socks with materials I care about at a faster rate without injuring myself, and allowing for people to enjoy them more quickly.

Thank you for considering donating to my small business!
