Soccer net for youth in Tijuana

Donation protected
Through the Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice, Bianca Alvarado worked with high school youth Volunteers while participating in the  Social Fabric Initiative (SFI) this summer.

For their summer volunteer project, the youth decided to rehabilitate their community park located in Terrazas Valle, Tijuana. They chose the park rehabilitation because they wanted to have space in their community where they could gather and play. The park needed cleaning, repairs, and recreational equipment.

Here the youth are painting over graffiti to restore their park table.

With the help of SFI, the community, and partners the youth have led various community activities to rehabilitate their park. The Volunteers learned how to repurpose tires into swings.

This Sunday, August 19th, the youth will be honored for the work that they have done. However, we would love to complete the park by buying two soccer nets. The community has been fundraising to purchase the soccer net and we just need 55 dollars more.

Be part of this story by donating today and help us purchase the soccer net that will be given to the youth this Sunday (08/19/18). Your name will be mentioned during the summit as a thank you. You can also help us by sharing this fundraiser with a friend to help us meet our goal.

Sincerely,

Bianca Alvarado
