Snezhina (Snowflake) Medical Fund

Donation protected
Snezhina Dimitrova-Haskell (a/k/a “Snowflake”) has recently been diagnosed with a very aggressive form of Leukemia on Tuesday 11 October 2016. She had recently been fighting what she thought was a normal virus, but continued to push her doctors to understand the cause. Much to her surprise she received the dreaded call at 10 PM advising her to go directly to the ED for treatment. When she arrived at the ED in Laconia, NH she was then transported by ambulance to Boston, MA where she immediately started treatment, and will remain for the next month (at least).  She is currently undergoing chemo therapy and will eventually need a bone marrow transplant. Once she is released from Boston, she will continue to need treatments every 2 weeks in Boston for the following 4-6 months.

Snezhina is only 31 years old and is having to battle this horrible illness on her own. Her husband is over 3 hours way back in NH taking care of their 7 year old son David, so he can continue with school and sports.  Snezhina came to the US over 10 years ago on a student visa, and because she loved this country so much she decided to stay.  This means that the rest of her family is not here in the US to help her and her husband through these tough times. Her family is back in Bulgaria; her mother is trying to get to the US as quickly as possible so that she can help care for the family and support them through these difficult times.  Snezhina’s visitations are limited to a very small circle in order to keep her from getting ill during her treatments, as that would only complicate her battle.

She has been a dedicated employee for Laconia Dunkin Donuts for over 9 years and shares her infectious smile to everyone she meets.  Some of you may know her as Snowflake as she is unique and certainly one of a kind!

Since she is in Boston receiving treatment she will not be working to support herself and family, which also means her medical insurance will no longer cover her unless she finds a way to pay the premiums.  To help her avoid further anxiety from what she is already dealing with, I am asking you to please dig down deep in your hearts and donate.  Every penny helps!  Let’s bring some good news her way and help her bring her mother to Boston to be by her side; cover the cost of her premiums while she is out of work so allow her coverage to continue; and help her family with the expenses of back and forth trips to Boston.
