Snapshots for Samaritans (& Mountain rescue)

Donation protected
Hello all! My name is Steve and I love taking photos. But let me tell you some background...

When I was a kid I always had disposable cameras. I remember getting a cheapo Polaroid camera as a birthday gift one year (I still have a box full of very bad polaroids taken in my youth).  My sister and I used to play games with our stuffed toys and 'take them on holiday' taking photos of them around our garden, my parents must have spent 100's of pounds getting photos developed of Great Uncle Bulgaria sat in the petunias...

However its now 20 years later and I still document as much as I can with photos. Photography is a form of therapy for me I think.

I take pics of everything.  EVERYTHING. (that sounded more ominous that I anticipated)

This is where you come in...

I want a camera. I don't NEED a camera but I'd like one and this is why...

My plan is to combine my love of photography with my love of sport and to use this to hopefully raise some money for some worthwhile causes. To do so I need a fairly powerful camera capable of taking photos at a higher and much faster rate than my mobile phone.

My aim is  to frequent sporting events (i.e parkruns, road races, track and field events, cycling, cyclocross, swim meets etc) most weekends and take photos of competitors taking part and/or the general goings on of the event.

At this point the photos would be made available to download (for free) through social media or potentially even a website with an option however, when downloading said photos people would be encouraged to donate, this wouldn't be mandatory and there'd be no fixed donation, it could be a penny it could be a thousand pounds...

The charities I have decided to raise money for in this way are:
https://www.samaritans.org/
https://www.mountain.rescue.org.uk/

If you do have a few pounds to spare and you want to help me out with my plan, I'd be eternally grateful. I'd like to think that maybe people would appreciate the photos I'd take with a good camera enough to donate a little to these great charity.

Any money raised will go towards buying a DSLR camera. Any excess will be divided between the two charities 50/50

If you are able to help financially, please do. If not, maybe share this fundraiser along to others? Thank you.
