My name is John Miller. I am 48 years old and my wife, Jodi and I have 5 children (4 on earth and 1 in Heaven). I find myself in a position of asking for help, should you feel led. I am a Christian and I believe that God will supply all of my needs. I do believe He uses instruments to provide which I why I stress that only give if you feel a leading.
Here is my story:
I have had my share of challenges through the years but I have never wavered from my integrity or character when faced with tough situations. I am deaf so my line of work with the State of Illinois is to help the deaf with necessary tools to make it in this world, while helping them with a hand up, not a hand out. Due to politics, I was released from my position of thirteen (13) years this past November.
About four (4) years ago, I was diagnosed with Desmoid Fibromatosis tumor which is a very invasive tumor that has tentacles and has wrapped itself around my spine and ribs. Three (3) years ago, I had first surgery to remove my ribs and the tumor. Last year, it came back and I had another surgery where I had more ribs removed and a mesh put in my back to protect my organs. The doctors also removed muscle from my thigh to fill the hole in my back. Since my surgery, I have had neurological problems and have developed seizures. My doctors told me that they probably came on with stress, but more recently, I was diagnosed with Epilepsy. The latest report on my tumor is that there is a new mass on my back, close to my heart.
I am very overwhelmed because the medical bills are piling up and I have yet to find a job (although I have an interview coming up). I am not one to ask for help or let my circumstances be an excuse. I am willing to work but am limited on what I can do with my health problems.
My income has stopped, my tumor has returned, and my bills are overwhelming. If the Lord lays it on your heart to give, in any amount, it would be greatly appreciated. If not, that is fine. Thank you for your consideration.
