College debt and future fears...

$70,000 goal

I graduated high school in 2001. My family was not well to do (we lived in a trailer park, my father filed for bankrupcy several times and my job at a local grocery store helped us out with the bills) but EVERYONE insisted that I had to go to college. I wanted to do art for a living. The College for Creative studies was the college to go to locally for the degree I was told I needed, everyone recommeded it.  It was not cheap.

I graduated top of my class.  I do art for a living.  I do not make enough money to pay the $700 a month minimum payment on my school loans so they have been in deferment since my graduation in 2010.  It worries me going into my adult life with such a massive debt hanging over my head.  If I knew then what I know now i would never have listened to everyone.  I would have gone to a local community college for a BFA for free since my GPA was so high.

If 7,000 people could spare ten bucks I could get rid of ALL of my debt.  I worked hard and paid off all of my credit debt already. There were periods in my life where I worked two or three jobs to subsist. I was going to college, living on my own and working full time since 18. It's hard to admit that I need help.  I lost my father last year and my mother a few before that. I have no family left to ask for help. I want to be able to concentrate on furthering my art career without the stress of school loans always on my mind.
