Please pray for my 11 month old Great Dane right now. He has just been taken into emergency surgery this evening for a blockage in his intestine. This sweet boy is part of our family. I will get an update on his surgery once he is out....I love you my sweet Smokey (Eeyore). Every prayer and any help is much appreciated right now. Thank you.....

Thank you so much for your prayers and support. We fought a good fight. Unfortunately this his body has not responded to the treatment given. We needed to know we did all we could. Smokey's small intestine has completely shut down. He had a very difficult day and surgery. We will be going to say goodbye to our sweet baby boy.......
We love you so much!❤❤❤❤

I am so thankful for all the wonderful friends and family that have helped but Smokey a few more days of fighting. I appreciate all the prayers and support as we figure out way through this. Went to visit Smokey today. He was more alert. We enjoyed our time together. We sat under a tree outside on a blanket. As I kissed his forehead, he would push his head into my lips even more. Loving me back. And yet, it was very difficult and discouraging to see his condition take a step backwards. I had another ruff conversation with Dr. Ramsey this morning. Whatever Smokey is fighting is very aggressive, nothing like she has ever seen. Today was a little discouraging that he started throwing up again despite the 2 different anti nausea medicines he is on. She expressed the risk and reward of going back in to get some biopsies to get tested at no extra cost. She feels what we are dealing with is as aggressive as Parvo, but lasting way longer than Parvo lasts. He was negative for Parvo. There are many risks but I agreed. So if you could please continue to pray for him and Dr. Ramsey. I will update again on how surgery went. Thank you again for all the support.

I know you might say Smokey is just a dog. But I would say no he is not. When you are that mom and all your kids have left home, your husband is out late most nights, and there you are sit with your Smokey Bear sitting beside you. When you do not feel well and he comes and lays his head on your chest looking you in the eyes. As if to say, "mommy it will be OK." When you are his one person he looks to...He is my beautiful gentle beast. If you have ever had a dog that is not "just a dog" Smokey is that beautiful boy. My days will never be the same without him. He has comforted me over many tearful nights with my children and many lonely nights without my husband. He is not just a dog and 9 1/2 months with him is not enough time with him. Please help me save him......

Visited with my Smokey Bear today for a few hours. He was glad to see me. Smokey is showing signs of improvement very slowly. He is still not out of the woods. We would like to give him until Monday to see how he does. The vet has been great to try and keep costs as low as possible. We are still looking at a $1,800 bill on top of the other $700 we have already spent. He needs care though the weekend. If you are able to help every bit will help get our precious boy back home. Thank you so much for all your prayers and support for my buddy.
