SMNW Band Boosters

High school bands are the spirit and heart-beat of high school memories. The school fight song and half-time performances. Pep bands to cheer the team when they win...and keep the spirit alive during a loss. Friendships that last a lifetime. Please join us as we keep the music alive at Shawnee Mission Northwest!

The SMNW Band Boosters actively supports the SMNW band program to ensure the resources needed to continue a long tradition of musical excellence. We invite you to join us in our Music Changes Lives campaign to raise $5000 for the band program.

Given the uncertainty in state funding for education, this campaign is vital to ensure the band program can continue to thrive at Northwest. Most importantly, fundraising efforts allow all students the ability to participate fully in the band program, including those with a financial need. Funds also support rising costs associated with the Marching Cougar Pride, including uniform and instrument care, marching performances and competitions, summer band camp and marching clinics.  In addition, funds raised directly support the purchase of music and equipment as well as salaries for clinicians at all levels of the band program.

The Shawnee Mission Northwest Band Program offers an exceptional musical experience for students. High school opportunities include the Marching Cougar Pride, Symphonic and Concert Bands, Jazz Band, Percussion Ensemble, Pit Orchestra and Basketball Pep Band. Our students are dedicated and talented musicians supported by amazing families, friends, teachers, administrators and the community.

The Band Program is led by notable faculty, including Penny Snead, Director; Doug Talley, Assistant Director, and percussion instructors, Brett Eichman and Mary Watson. Faculty also teach and develop future musicians at Trailridge Middle School, Broken Arrow Elementary, Mill Creek Elementary, Rhein Benninghoven Elementary, Ray Marsh Elementary and Shawanoe Elementary.
