As a survivor of a heinous crime as a child. The person charged is due to be released because the sentences were run at the same time. 8 children lost more than the time they have served. The release will occur quietly as the law says they have completed the sentence. The papers won't print it as it is not public interest. Unlike the trial and feelings of the victims because that’s interesting it was front page news. The worst case ever brought before him, the most prolific child rapist were the words use by the judge. Now upon a trial release the parole conditions were broken in under a month and they were sent back to complete the sentence. Having proven the victims fears that if released they would reoffend.
I need legal help to get his sentence reviewed and support from you as this in the interest of the public and there is evidence that they are still are risk to the public. I am seeking a judicial review. The donations are to fund will go to the legal costs.
I have spent nearly 2 decades writing letters, impact statements, from local MP, charities, legal bodies to the Prime Minister but to no avail. My one voice is not enough. It is no longer needed as they have been charged.
I broke the silence and relived the years of the ordeal in the hope of a future not looking over my shoulder and knowing no other child would endure what no child should.
Now I am about to lose my freedom with the released date, and I must at least fight once more for the children. My bruises have faded but the scars remain. Don't let the system silence those who voices need to be heard.
For the first time I am going public and asking for help. If they admitted guilt and were rehabilitated, I would not do this. But unlike the promises of the legal system and true to character in this case, this has not happened.
I lost my voice as a child and know the pain behind the silence. I cannot stay quiet without my words being heard. I cannot carry the pain if another child loses their childhood because I stayed silent.
If there are any funds left over. Which I doubt, I want to work with the legal system to help improve the care of victims. In addition to ensure when these crimes are investigated. The truth should be reason for conviction and not the pressures of conviction rates. As a topic I have researched. I have seen as the resources decreases, the same amazing work I was honoured to witness with the authorities involved. This effort is sadly declining and false allegations and wrongful convictions are rising. A victim should be believed when they speak out about rape but equally guilt should be proven.
As an adult my eyes have been opened and I have seen both sides so I know I can offer a unbiased opinion on a topic that when discussed it naturally causes emotions where the senses take over and in general create a bias view.
Once I have finished this chapter, I will be setting up a place to go, a safe place for survivors of any crime. Where they can do nothing or talk but most importantly be safe. I want to conserve some land and all its wildlife plants and trees. A sanctuary where people can give back to nature and then enjoy the area for years to come.
I have been given anonymity by the courts but would tell my story to get my side across and if I can save one child. It will be worth it...
My next step is to retry contacting the Crown prosecutor head, but the role has had 3 people swap in since A. Saunders highlighted the flaws in these investigations I keep getting lost in admin and on boarding. But will keep trying. I will write a letter a week if needed.
The defendant silenced us, and the police gave back our voices for the conviction. All I need is to be heard about the release.
I am not looking for sympathy I am looking for justice.
