Hey!
My names Xander de Haan and I’m fundraising for my 4-week volunteer mental heath placement in Bali this July. I’m currently in my final year of my Psychology degree at Curtin University and was lucky enough to be accepted into this volunteer based placement through SLV.
SLV run projects aiming to help the local community, as well as providing students like me first hand experience to utilise the skills I’ve learnt while completing my psychology degree in a completely different culture.
I will be working in a psychiatric facility and interacting with people who suffer from various mental illnesses. Additionally, I will also be working with individuals with special needs and teaching English to young children. I will also be living with a local Balinese family alongside a few other volunteers.
The trip all together will cost roughly $4000+ which includes the placement fee, flights, travel visa + insurance, jabs, and spending money. However, I’m capping it at $2 500 so this will only cover my placement fee. I appreciate you reading this far and genuinely would be so stoked with any kind of donation possible!
