Let me introduce you to Asha & Samantha (Sam) - two beautiful sisters who share a deep connection. These two girls radiate love, friendship and warmth, the kind of girls' who go up to anyone and immediately make them feel as if they have known you forever- warm, welcoming and beautiful from deep inside. So it is with so much sadness we share the following story...
Sam is Asha's younger sister and the two girls are as close as close can be. Five years ago Sam was diagnosed with breast cancer but Sam fought hard and underwent rigourous chemo treatment and a double masectomy to beat this cancer. In the four years since Sam has embraced life, marrying the love of her life Al, travelling the world and 14 months ago received the best news ever - she was pregnant! Thinking it would be unlikely they could have a family given the chemo treatment, this was a blessing and Arabella was born September 2016. This baby has brought so much joy and laughter to this close knit family, so in December when the news that Sam's cancer had returned the family was rocked. Despite rigourous chemo over the last 6 weeks, treatment has been unable to stop the cancer and Asha, Sam, and the entire Tsalikis family are devastated with this news and we feel for them in this extremely tough time.
Here at CrossFit Desire we believe strongly in building a community that supports one another and we really wanted to help Sam, her daughter Arabella and husband Al, as well as Asha, Simon and the rest of the family spend as much time as possible together over the last few months. We hope that with your valued donation they can take time off from work, tick some items of a bucket list and create some long lasting memories to share for the years to come.
