Sky Ridge Yurts Expansion Program

My name is Melissa, and I'd like to tell you a little bit about a place called Sky Ridge Yurts . Sky Ridge Yurts is a glorious place nestled in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains in western North Carolina. Many people come to visit us to live their vacation dreams, but for me, Sky Ridge is a bit of a bittersweet dream.
You see, in 2010, my husband Adam was tragically killed while commuting to work on his bicycle. That morning, he left me and our two young children behind to try to make our way through life without him. Thankfully, we've done pretty ok, and we've done it through our vacation rental business - you guessed it - Sky Ridge Yurts. I opened Sky Ridge in December of 2011 so that I could bring in an income that would allow me to continue to stay at home with the girls (Adam and I believed strongly that one parent at home is always best when raising kids). Losing a parent is a horrible thing, and I was determined that their life would change as little as possible, and that meant finding a way to earn money while still being a stay at home mom.
Fast forward four years, and the girls are getting older and their needs are getting more expensive. In order to meet their expanding needs, I need to expand Sky Ridge Yurts! Someone suggested using this site to raise funds to do this, so I figured we'd give it a go. But, I want to give back, too. As I mentioned, many people visit us to experience a unique vacation experience in one of the most visited areas in the United States. Staying on a mountain ridge is something that just seems to soothe most souls, and we want to offer anyone who helps fund this expansion the chance to experience it once it's done!
So, while donations in any amount will be tremendously appreciated, if you would like to "book early" a stay in our new expansion (our estimate is that it will be ready for guests in June of 2015), we will gladly offer you a free night for every night that you pre-book!** You can double your vacation dollar by donating to our expansion cause.

**In order to receive a free night, you will need to donate a minimum of $169. A donation of $169 will give you a two-night stay at our facility, and we will match one free night for every $169 increment you donate.
