Skyline High School "Soup"er Bowl Food Drive

You may have heard about the “Soup”er Bowl, a competition in which Skyline and Idaho Falls high schools face off to see who can raise the most  food to stop hunger. Despite the competition, District 91 high schools – Skyline and Idaho Falls - have joined toward a unified goal while maintaining a healthy competition. We have decided that the battle is not between schools, it is against hunger. Our goal is to keep the food bank stocked for the whole year! Often times the Idaho Falls Community Food Basket is left empty during cold winter months. Our food drive supplies approximately 1/3 of the food to the food basket annually. The "Soup"er Bowl started in 2006, raising a little over 6,000 cans between both schools. Currently, Skyline High School alone has raised over 1,000,000 cans for the community throughout the last 11 years. This year SHS's goal is 70,000 cans.

The Idaho Falls Community Food Basket and other food pantries can make use of monetary donations. For example, the average cost of Mac and Cheese is around 1 dollar; however, the food pantries can buy pallets at a discounted cost of $0.05. We estimate that every dollar donated can be stretched to about 6-10 dollars worth of food.  You can help! Keep in mind that all donations are tax deductible!
