Help Skooter Walk Again

Donation protected

Skooter was adopted from Willamette Humane Society in Salem, OR. This amazing shelter found Skooter was worth saving. They took him in and provided extensive medical care to him as a tiny 1 month old kitten.

Skooter is a rear leg amputee. It's pretty common for pets legs to be amputated and they live a perfectly normal life. Skooter is not that lucky. Unfortunately his other leg doesn't work either. Thus becoming "Skooter"

My husband and I adopted Skooter when he was 5 months old. He's been with us 3 weeks and we have started him in a program and are working with a vet and rehab in hopes that someday he will walk again.

His muscles in his tiny leg are contracted. His broken pelvic bone healed and fused incorrectly. His joint in his only good leg may require surgery in the future because of hip displasia.  He drags is other leg behind him. It's unusable but if we work on it now it's possible to get him going again

We are going to do everything we can to get Skooter walking again. This was not what we expected when we adopted him but we love our Skooter.

Skooter will have:
Many vet visits
X-rays
Ultra sound therapy
Water / float therapy
Physical therapy
Rotational excercise
Mobile assisting device (kitty wheelchair)
Daily commitment to his special needs.
Potential Hip Surgery

Any additional funds will go to our local humane society to fund future surgeries and provide physical therapy to disabled shelter cats!

Join us along the way and if you can help out we would be forever grateful!
