Help Leah Dickman Beat Leukemia

Donation protected
Leah Dickman has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and she has begun what will be a 4 to 6 week stay in Marshfield Clinic.  She is now in the fight of her life, and it will take everything she has to prevail.   More about what she needs in a moment, but first, a little bit about this remarkable young woman.

Leah Dickman is a fighter who knows something about what it takes to beat the odds.  Leah was born with a rare genetic condition called Sotos-Dodge Syndrome.

People with Sotos Syndrome often have intellectual impairment, and most also display autistic traits. Frequent behavioral impairments include attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder, tantrums, and impulsive behaviors. Problems with speech and language are also common. Affected individuals may often have stuttering, difficulty with sound production, or a monotone voice. Additionally, weak muscle tone may delay other aspects of early development, particularly motor skills such as sitting and crawling.

Leah had her share of problems with many of those things, but through her incredible, cheerful personality, her strong faith, and because of the constant and loving support of her mother throughout her 33 years, Leah has over come so many of these things.

Leah worked very hard and graduated from high school.  She has worked in various jobs in the community, and even recently as her health was failing her, she continued to serve as a volunteer Gallery Greeter at The Center For The Visual Arts.

One of the highlights of Leah's adult life was attending Tim Tebow's Night To Shine; an adult prom event for special needs adults.  It was an opportunity for Leah to look and feel as wonderful as she truly is.

Leah has beaten the odds her entire life, and she can beat the odds again.  But she needs help with her day to day living expenses, as well as the costs of travel and lodging for her mother, Darla.  Her mother is her full time care provider.

Please send your prayers, your energy, and especially your financial support to help Leah beat Leukemia.  With your support, she can win this battle.
