Benjamin H. Sites Announces Candidacy for Franklin County Sheriff

CHAMBERSBURG – Benjamin H. Sites has announced his candidacy for Franklin County Sheriff.  Sites, a Republican, is currently a Sergeant with the Franklin County Sheriff’s office.

“As a lifelong resident of Franklin County, I believe I have an ideal background to serve as the next sheriff,” said Sites.  “I love this community and can bring fresh ideas to the sheriff’s office.”

Sites is a 2007 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School, where he was captain of the basketball and lacrosse teams.  He received his bachelor’s degree in history from Shippensburg University.  At Shippensburg, Sites worked in a social services position working for Keystone Human Services of Central PA.  He is active in the community, frequently giving presentations to underprivileged children, as well as special education classrooms. Sites also volunteers his time with various groups such as the SAMS camp at the Chambersburg YMCA.

Sites has been employed with the Franklin County Sheriff since 2011, when he was hired by current Sheriff Anthony.  He was promoted to sergeant in 2014.  He is an in-house instructor for firearms and defensive tactics.  Sites has extensive training and certifications in all aspects of law enforcement. He also has worked diligently to create outreach trainings to teach kids about peer pressure, gun safety, and staying drug free.

Sites is a member of the Faith Church of God Harbor Light.  He also attends men’s group sessions at the Christian Life Church in Chambersburg.  Sites is a current resident of Hamilton Township, where he is married with one child, to Hilary Sites (Addleman).

Sites is currently a pivotal leader within the Sheriff Office, and has been a part of, and seen the tremendous growth, and innovation already achieved by current Sheriff Anthony.

“If elected as your next Sheriff, I will work tirelessly to make sure our community is a safe place to live and to work,” said Sites.  “I hope to use my background and knowledge to bring a new level of service and safety to the citizens of Franklin County.” “ Sites also challenges older, middle aged, as well as younger adults, to come alive, register to vote, and have a voice in what happens in their community.”
