Dear Friends, Family & Business,
West High School has joined the nation-wide movement to provide a sensible and enjoyable Alcohol and Drug Free celebration following prom. This event provides an exciting opportunity for our Seniors and their dates, allows them to celebrate after prom in a safe environment, and keeps them off the roads.
West High School will hold the annual After Prom Party on May 12th, 2018 beginning at 11:30P.M. Concluding at 5A.M.
Why do we hold After Prom
...To keep our teens safe!
Teen traffic deaths during prom seasons are higher than any other time of the year.
1 in 3 people under the age of 21 who died in alcohol related accidents died during prom and graduation season (per National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.)
Its important to note that this is not a school funded event and that it is supported 100% by local donations from parents and businesses. A hefty chunk of the money goes toward door prizes and gifts for seniors awarded at 4A.M., and the students must be there all night to claim them.
As a community, we have an obligation to provide a safe and wholesome 2018 atmosphere for our children and young adults. Communities across the nation have successfully presented exciting safe parties for high school students to attend following their proms.
We are asking YOU to donate funds, services, products, or food to help us put on the best and safest after prom option for our students. Your generosity and support is critical to our success.
