Single Fathers of Kyaka II
Donation protected
My name is Keri and I am an American researcher and humanitarian. In January and February 2016 I carried out research for my master's thesis in Kyaka II Refugee Settlement in Kyegegwa, Uganda. During this time I interviewed 27 single fathers who are living in the refugee settlement, but originate from the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda.
These men fled armed conflict and insecurity and have since made a home in Kyaka II. There, they live in very poor conditions, yet are persevering through their dire circumstances in hopes of providing a brighter future for themselves and their children.
After completing my research, I kept in contact with several of the men, and decided to start this campaign in order to raise a small amounts of funds for them. I will send the total amount collected and the money will be split evenly among the 27 men (as long as they are still residing in the settlement). The men and their children will be extremely grateful for your donation. In Kyaka II, a few dollars goes a long way.
