Sing Song Daddy Recording Project

Sing Song Daddy is a collection of 15-20 original tunes composed for ukulele and voice, with accompaniment.

The songs speak of love, loss, redemption, renewal, blues, friendship, polarization, compromise, contemplation, labor history, ukulele madness, humor, miracles, the vaudeville era, civil war, and so much more.

Some are songs i have danced around with out on the road and others are fresh from pen to paper. None of them have ever been recorded before.

This record will pick up where Happiest Way To Be Sad left off but with a whole lot more true grit, back road, no holds barred, take no prisoners kind urgency that has been our life the last couple years.

Like most of my song writing, the roots are extremely obvious, as you listen you'll hear a strong dose of blues, roots rock, bluegrass, folk, island style, and more.

I intend to assemble a stellar lineup of some of my favorite Milwaukee Musicians and record at Surround in Sound Studios (W/Jonathan Luebner) on Milwaukee's northwest side (where i've recorded many of my other ukulele records).

Funds will be used to pay for the following:

$2,000.00- Recording Cost
$1,500.00 -CD duplication
$ 1,500 -Studio musicians
$400.00 -PR
$100.00 -Copyright Processing
$600.00 -Graphic Arts
$1,000.00-Sing Song Daddy Lead Sheet Songbook
(to help spread the songs around)

I hope to begin recording at the end of April 2017.

Expected release of the CD is Mid-Summer (Hopefully in time for West Coast Summer Tour) 2017.

You're contributions will enable me to begin recording with the necessary funds that are needed to pull off a CD of this magnitude.

Who'll benefit from this project?
My hope is that my ukulele fans around the world will treasure these songs, wanna play them em' and perhaps they'll find some meaningful way to lighten the load as good songs sometimes do!

I tip my glass to those new fans as well, who'll discover this record at a live show or online perhaps and they too,
will appreciate the work of this midwestern troubadour.

I am thankful for your continued support for my art as a professional, full-time ukulele instructor and entertainer. Without you my friends, family and fans, it'd be a hard row to hoe,  and so, to you, i say....Amen!

With Love,

Lil Rev

Dear Friends, Fans and Family,

Great news!

My new CD, Sing Song Daddy is at this time being pressed and should arrive on my porch in about 10 days.

This record breaks new ground in many ways, while also continuing in the spirit of Happiest Way To Be Sad.

This CD contains 15 tracks including, a T-Bone Walker inspired Boogie instrumental, An Alt-tuned finger-style piece, an ode to my old pal and mentor Larry Penn, a John Lee Hookers Blues riff driven blues piece that reimagines John Lee Hooker as a ukulele player, a tad of bluegrass influenced song-writing, a ballad or two, and many more, played on Soprano, Tenor, Baritone, and Banjo Ukulele with dobro, upright bass, harmony vocal, harmonica and 2nd ukulele on a number of tracks.

This weekend is you're last chance to grab a copy ahead of the curve, I'll close the pre-sale and related niceties of stickers, t-shirts and books that fans get for helping the project along before it hits the retail side of things.

I will begin promoting the record this fall at a number of ukulele festivals including The Los Angeles International Ukulele Festival, The Funky Frets Festival in PA, The Strumming Man Festival in Panama City, FL and The Virginia Ukulele Festival in November to name a few.

Big thanks to all of the incredible musicians whose patience, talent and friendship, help make this project what it is.

Big love to all my fans, who's never-ending support continues to make these recording financially possible.

Dear Sing Song Daddy Supporters,

This week I'll finally enter the studio to begin work on my new CD.

It has been a busy spring finishing up a new ukulele book, a tour of Florida and planning my summer tour out west.

The current plan is to record this whole week, finishing on Friday.

Then we'll spend some time listening, editing, mastering and creating a track order.

The art work will be coordinated over the month of July and we are hoping to send the whole production out for production by mid to late august. I expect to have copies of the CD in hand by mid September. I'll be in touch to confirm mailing address at that time.

In the meantime, I'll keep you updated as we roll along.

Thank you all for helping to support this endeavor!

Lil Rev
