Simon’s Community Gardens

Tax deductible
**We are currently seeking funding to help develop East Winston's ONLY universally accessible area which includes all of the following features:

- gravel-paved produce garden with 12 table beds ranging in height from 32" to 38" inches (these beds can accommodate gardeners with physical restrictions that make traditional raised-bed gardening difficult or impossible, including gardeners using wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility devices)
- gravel-paved community herb garden open to everyone and accessible to individuals using wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility devices
- gravel-paved shade/rest area surrounded by a NC native wildflower meadow

We have secured partial funding for this project through small grants, but we still have a ways to go.  Your donation will help make this dream a reality for the gardeners living in these communities who may not otherwise have access to resources for growing, harvesting, and enjoying their own sustainably-grown produce!   Please make a donation today!**

The Friends of  Simon’s Community Gardens need your support to increase access to education and fresh produce in East and Southeast Winston. Your donation will help provide garden resources including bed rental fees and plants/seeds for community members who cannot afford them, as well as provide financial support for our garden education programs including our monthly “Arts in the Garden”, "Youth Garden Club", “Workshops in the Garden”, and “Cooking in the Garden” series. Contributions will also support our weekly Farmer’s Market aiming to increase access to fresh produce for residents living in this noted food desert. Thanks in advance for your support!

If you are unable to help out monetarily, we can always use volunteer help as well.  Contact the Community Gardens Manager, Kyle Luth ([email redacted]), for more information on how you can help us accomplish our mission of improving health and education in East and Southeast Winston-Salem!
