The expedition is made up of three, Minnesotans, Timb Mannuzza, Patrick Exe, and Paul Pow-Pow Ronan. All three have various outdoor and travel backgrounds. The walk is sure to push, challenge and grow us as we work our way across Asia. Each with our own personal motivations we are united in our thirst for the adventure and challenge that this expedition will bring.
In October 14th of 2017, we will start walking from Xi'an, China to Rome, Italy by way of China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, The Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, and finally Italy. Walk from one symbolic end of the Silk Road to the other, during a single expedition, to gain a better awareness of our global community.
Our mission is to walk from one symbolic end of the Silk Road to another, weaving together stories of People, Places and Purpose.
Our vision is to follow the footsteps of history; those countless traders, travelers, and exiled souls that faced the trials of crossing deserts, mountains, great plains, endless valleys, not to mention the range of climates and seasonal changes endured on this journey. More importantly, we will interview the people that settled these parts of the world to gain a greater understanding of cultures and the connections these people have fostered for the land and the places they call home. Finally to investigate the ingenuity it took to adapt and live in places some would deem hostile.
We split this mission into three categories that will help us take a closer look: People, Places, & Products. For us, these categories all came under the umbrella idea of Globalization.
The four people walking will be providing $45,000 of the necessary funds. However, $17,000 is still needed to reach our ideal budget. $600 worth of Winter Green pants has been donated, $1000 of Granite Gear packs, $100 of water pumps from Ancient Wisdom, and The Visa Machine has given 50% off their fees. Other sponsors include CSIS. The team has been working to find as much support as possible.
The trip is about 12,000 kilometers long, we need $12 per a kilometer. You may choose as a donor if you would like to sponsor particular kilometer marks.

Staff $4000
Film Budget $4000
(production, marketing, and editing of film)
Filming trips $4000
(flying of film crew to filming place)
Travel Insurance $3000
Gofundme Tax $2000

A two year expedition covering over 12,000 kilometers from Xi’an, China to Rome, Italy. Your contribution and support mean so much to us, as we rediscover a historic path.
