Toronto Protest at Health Canada

The protest was a remarkable success!
Turnout and participation surpassed expectations. Large, bright red posters lined the sidewalks of downtown Toronto grabbing attention while volunteers clad in equally bright red T-shirts engaged those passing by.
Local employees bustling past on their lunch hours stopped at the ‘Wall of Missing’ and gave pause to those missing from their lives – some for decades! Many seemed deeply moved at coming face to face with the human suffering and toll of this dreadful disease Myalgic Encephalomyelitis that has been abandoned and left behind in Canada.
Many individuals helping out were very ill themselves but braved the physical demands and taxation of the day feeling the profound importance of the mission while acknowledging the severity of the relapse they faced when returning home.
Good will was developed with the Toronto Police Force and Health Canada shut down for the duration of the Protest. An impact was made .
Millions Missing Canada has outstanding expenses of $1,230 from this Sick-in Protest that took place in front of Health Canada in downtown Toronto on October 6th.
The costs are for posters, foam boards, a display rack, wire mesh, protective covers, printing of t-shirts, light folding chairs, storage containers, adhesives, general supplies and printing of the flyers that were distributed to raise public awareness.
Other than the promotional material handed out, all other goods along with the shoes sent in for display, will be reused in future events.
We are so grateful to those who gave to the first fundraiser that allowed this event to get off the ground. Please help us cover the remaining costs of this day. No amount is too small.
