Shyla and Sox: A Retirement Fund

Donation protected
Their story is a sad one. Shyla and Sox are 2 sister pit bulls who are 13 years old. A couple sad old gals that needed my help. Thier owner Nicole had a really rough time caring for them and along with a life changing event and moving out of town she had little in the way of options. So she made the heart-wrenching decision to give them up, she tried to find them a home, it wasn't easy and it seemed like it was taking forever!

With the new Pit bull ban and them being older dogs and sisters it didn't look good for them. I HAD to help, they broke my heart with their sad adorable eyes. And apparently, they touched a lot of other people in my community. People took to Facebook and supported me in ways you couldn't imagine. I've been offered many things from beds to bowls, dog toys, and food. The support I was getting brought me to tears and blew me away.

I decided to take on this journey, for me, for them. So I thought I would reach out a paw and see how far their ripples will go.

So now I'm asking you to take it further! Shyla and Sox are both 13 years old. They really don't have a lot of time left with us and I really want to make the time we do have, THE BEST TIME!

Shyla and Sox will be going to the vet this Thursday, March 2nd. I already know that Shyla has a thyroid issue that needs ongoing medication and blood work. Shyla has also not had that medication in a year or so.

Imagine if you were elderly living on a pension and unable to help your pet who might have an emergency issue... or perhaps your pet needs to be humanely euthanized in an emergency situation and didn't have the money to euthanize them... or what if your dog needed a surgery to save their life and it was only $400 and you couldn't afford it immediately?

Fortunately, some vets will euthanize regardless but what if they don't? Some vets will let you make a payment plan to save your pet, but what if they don't? What if you had to take your 2 elderly dogs to the pound and surrender them cause you can't afford it? How hard do you think that would be?

Shyla and Sox are just an example of two dogs who cannot be apart (not AT ALL), two dogs who could've lost their lives in a shelter, two dogs that just needed some love and some medication to be happy. Yet there are thousands of dogs and dog owners who just need a little bit of help. Families, the elderly, the single parent homes, everyone needs a bit of help sometimes and I don't think animals should suffer because the unexpected happened.

All my life I knew I could make a difference in the lives of animals. Well, I think I found my calling. I would like Shyla and Sox: A Retirement Fund to continue to help other older dogs and their owners, or elderly owners to keep their dogs, or older dogs and their families that just need a bit of a hand with medical costs. I think this is very important because I see more and more people putting their sick or elderly dogs in the pound where they might never be adopted in time to save them.

So please, anything, even $5 is such a big help for this cause! Everything donated will be used to help other pets like Shyla and Sox to live a full and happy life right to the end!
