Be the Change - Christmas Adoption

Every year, there are students who are in need of warm clothes and clothing that fits. In an effort to help these students locally, the Stockbridge High School FFA chapter started the Be the Change Christmas Kid Adoption program. We work with school counselors and social workers at the 8 schools in our cluster to get the information of students who need assistance. These families are the ones who missed deadlines or didn't qualify for other types of assistance available.
We try to provide at least 2 new outfits, shoes, underwear, socks, and a jacket to each child and his or her siblings.
In the past 5 years, we have adopted and provided for over 150 kids. We adopted 55 kids last year alone.
The FFA asks staff and other school clubs to donate items or money to our effort. The FFA then buys for the kids who are still on the list. However, with the amount of students we adopted last year, we are trying to raise as much funding as possible to make sure none of these kids have to go without.
