Jason Kenney is abstaining from voting on recently introduced legislation that would stop people from being harassed as they access healthcare and abortion services at clinics in Calgary and Edmonton. And just the other day every single United Conservative Party MLA left the legislature rather than debate this important bill.
Since Jason Kenney and his UCP colleagues aren't showing up to work we're showing up for Pro-Choice YQL. They're a grassroots group that recently won a huge victory in getting anti-abortion ads pulled from city buses in Lethbridge.
And Pro-Choice YQL does amazing work in connecting folks needing reproductive services with volunteers who transport them to Calgary and provide peer to peer counselling about abortion services. This includes escorting these folks past the protesters who harass them as they're going into abortion clinics.
I'm Duncan Kinney and I'm the executive director of the non-profit Progress Alberta . All funds raised from this effort will go to Pro-Choice YQL in their efforts for a billboard in downtown Lethbridge and to support access to health care services for people in Lethbridge. Pro-reproductive rights messaging is direly needed in Lethbridge as are further funds to help them support the folks who need to travel to Calgary.
Jason Kenney makes $548.69 a day as leader of the official opposition. I will be donating a days worth of Kenney's wages to the effort. Kenney makes $68 an hour, $34 every half hour and $17 every fifteen minutes. We would encourage you to donate in these increments to help support Pro-Choice YQL.
This bill is going to sail through the legislature. The United Conservative Party doesn't want to talk about this issue. We need you to donate now to keep this conversation alive.
