SHIPSTON-ON-STOUR CRICKET CLUB TO CLIMB EUROPE'S HIGHEST PEAK

In September 2015 Shipston-on-Stour Cricket Club will attempt to scale the highest peak in Western Europe - all 15 781 feet of Mont Blanc, in the French Alps.

The intrepid mountaineering cricketers are hoping to raise a substantial sum for their chosen charities for 2015 - the Air Ambulance Service and the Brain Tumour Charity, both worthy causes close to our hearts.

The Air Ambulance Service helped to save the life of our long-serving scorer Rob Bradley in 2013, when he fell seriously ill and was rushed to hospital by the Warwickshire branch.

The Brain Tumour Charity was the chosen charity of local sportsman Andy Bygate, who represented our club with pride - Andy passed away recently aged just 46.

We hope to raise enough to make large donations to both these worthy causes - that make such a difference to so many people across the country touched by injury or illness.
