Shine Community Music Program

$100 of $40,000 goal

Raised by 1 person in 17 months
Operated by The Shine Group, The Shine Community Music Program is a non-profit incorporated in Ontario with strong charitable interests. Shine is dedicated to the advancement of music education, performance, production and philanthropy in the National Capital Region (NCR) and throughout Canada.

In philanthropy, Shine, in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa is expanding its Shine Community Music Program (SCMP), a social progrom that uses
free music instruction to break the cycle of poverty for children who otherwise cannot afford regular music lessons.

Our cause is relevant to you because you are almost certain to be a music lover, a supporter of culture, and the arts with an inclination and ability to contribute to community development efforts such as ours.

As an example of a Shine project that is a candidate for increased funding, the SCMP has received partial funding from donors such as the Ontario Trillium
Foundation (OTF), the City of Ottawa and other community, corporate and  individual donors. However, the program needs additional funding to become fully sustainable. It had proved beneficial for neighbourhood kids and musicians, and deserves to continue.

Shine is currently accepting donations via Go Fund Me. You can make a direct difference by donating $5, $25, $100, or whatever you feel comfortable giving. Please remember that every contribution counts!

As a small, charitable non-profit, note that Shine seeks modest donations. Shine does not provide tax receipts. To increase affordability among its supporters, Shine stresses that many hands make light work. We seek
assistance from a large community-minded audience by digital means.

Whatever you do, your donation will go to a good cause within the music community. Happy Music Making!
