Shiloh - Feed My Starving Children
Donation protected
Shiloh Middle School is all about Pride, Committment and Excellence. We are developing an understanding of global challenges and are committed to act as responsible citizens. Our school recognizes that not all children receive proper nutrition. Did you know 6.9 million kids under age 5 die each year in developing countries? Malnutrition and hunger-related diseases cause one-third of these deaths. That’s 6,200 children who die each day from hunger. That number has dropped from 18,000 in 1990—but it is still too large.
How do we get food where it’s needed most? And
how can food assistance help people build stronger
communities? Feed My Starving Children has a
hunger solution that answers both these questions. Shiloh Middle School, along with our cluster schools (Shiloh ES, Partee ES, Anderson Livsey ES, Annistown ES, Centerville ES and Shiloh HS) and community, is partnering with Feed My Starving Children to package food for starving children. We will come together as a school community and volunteer to help other children. Each meal costs $0.22 and our goal is to package 100,000 meals. On March 5, 2016, the Shiloh Community will come together to package meals for starving children. We need your help in raising the money required for such a task. It is important to show our students the reward in helping others. We all take so much for granted but we know that there are children around the world that have so many obstacles in front of them. It is our goal to move these obstacles one meal at a time. In this effort the students of the Shiloh Cluster will learn what service means. We have a great day planned and hope that you will help us along this journey.
