Shezad Bhat

Hockey aficionado, coach, father, husband, and a beloved friend, Shezad Butt left behind a void that can never be filled. He passed away on April 30th, 2018 leaving behind his wife, two young sons, and a 6 year old daughter. Coach Butt had been valiantly fighting cancer the last few weeks. His diagnosis was a shock and a surprise leaving him only a few weeks to live. But even during those last few weeks of his life, he never gave up on his love for Hockey and came to visit his students on the field in the weakest of his health. His commitment to the sport and his students made him die a hero for all the children that he coached and mentored for over 2 decades as a founding member of Kings XI Field Hockey Club in Calgary.

Coach Butt will be terribly missed. But he will also be forever remembered for the difference he made in so many lives he touched through hockey and otherwise. Now it's our turn to pay him back for all that he did for us. His young family is left with very limited resources to make their ends meet. His children are all still in school. This is when his family is in need of financial assistance. Please share this message far and wide, and get your friends and family to assist the Butt family so they can preserve and honor Coach Butt's legacy with dignity. Every dollar counts. Every bit of support goes a long way.
