Shelton's Medical Fund

My name is Luke, I'm Shelton's brother. Shelton was diagnosed with Synovial Cell Sarcoma in his left lung on March 9th, 2016.  The doctors told us that it's a rare kind of cancer, especially in the lung, but very chemo-sensitive.

It all started with random shoulder and side pain. We really didn't  think anything about it, and dismissed it as a pulled muscle. On February 29th, after 3 weeks of Shelton telling us about it, we took him to MedHelp to see what was going on. They did a chest x-ray, and the doctor told us his lung was collapsed and looked like it was full of fluid. He sent us to Children's Hospital E/R where they confirmed that his left lung was collapsed and completely full of fluid. Shortly after that the surgery team came in and spoke with us and told us that they were going to put a chest tube in to drain the fluid from his lung, and send it off for testing. As soon as they put in the chest tube, they drained a little over 2 liters of fluid, and he continued to drain for several days after. His first chemo treatment was March 12th, and that was the day they took his chest tube out.

Shelton came home on March 15th, and is getting better by the day. He's such a strong and vibrant little man, and he has such a positive attitude.

Anything that you donate is greatly appreciated and will be put toward the cost of travel, medicine, food and medical bills.
