Sheila Modglin, popular bartender at Dirty Franks, actress and community arts organizer in Upper Darby, was critically injured in a car accident and needs your help.
Sheila was hit by a car while crossing Lincoln Drive by foot on her way home from work after closing Franks early the morning of Feb. 9.
She suffered many broken bones and head trauma in the accident. She is being treated at Einstein Memorial Hospital in Philadelphia. Sheila has no health insurance. And she will have enormous medical bills, and no income while she recovers.
Sheila founded a non-profit art-for-kids program, Sunshine Arts, in Upper Darby. She and her friends turned her family home into a lived-art Space, where they open the doors daily to 20-40 neighborhood children from diverse backgrounds to engage in art, music and drama. This program has changed the lives of several hundred at-risk and immigrant children in Upper Darby.
Her hundreds of patrons at the bar, many from the nearby University of the Arts and from Temple University’s film program, know Sheila as a super positive person. She’s passionate and community minded, and always helping others.
Now she needs help herself.
