Shauna's hurricane fund

$1,000 goal

Campaign created 5 months ago
One of my online graduate students, Shauna, lives in the U.S. Virgin Islands.   While much media coverage focuses on Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands also were devastated by hurricanes Irma and Maria.

A couple of students in the program have asked how they could help, and we are establishing this fund to help Shauna and her family recover.  Our goal is modest—simply to let her know that others care.  Our deadline for this effort is October 15.

She has no power or water where she lives, although we can to her on the phone inconsistently and she has email when she goes into the office where she works. Currently, she is hoping to travel to the mainland and stay with family, although she had not been able to arrange a flight by October 2.

My name is Wally Metts and I direct an online graduate program at Spring Arbor University in Spring Arbor, MI.  The money for Shauna will be placed in her student account or provided to her through Paypal or similar means, depending on her needs and preferences.
