Shannon By Oar in Aid the Hospice

Donation protected
The Irish Hospice Foundation works for better end of life care across Ireland.  Our core belief is simple: everyone deserves a good death, and we only have one chance to get it right.

It is our vision that no one will face death and bereavement without the care and support they need and we appreciate your help as we strive for best care at end of life, for all.

Our programmes extend across every county, bringing hospice care and bereavement supports to the people that need them most.

With limited State funding the funds raised by this “Shannon by Oar” row are really important to us.

The Wicklow Hospice was founded in 2009 to fundraise to build a 15 bed Hospice. The need for a Hospice in County Wicklow is overwhelming to provide the level of care and support as provided by Hospices across Ireland, when suffering from a terminal illness.

We urge you to support the “Shannon by Oar” endeavour in whatever way you can.

The “Shannon by Oar” team plan to row 3 boats from The top f Lough Allen to Limerick City, a journey of 160 miles along the Shannon River and its 3 major lakes. It’s expected to take 9 days and on each day 12 rowers will row the boats which have been built by team leader Ger Crowley, local volunteers and some of the rowers.

We encourage you to support this fund-raising effort in two ways, sponsorship and organising local events and donate the proceeds on this Go Fund Me page.
