Hello, friends and family of Shannon Matzke (Farsund).
I want to make you aware of a life-changing event that recently occurred within the Matzke family and ask for your help and support through what will be a very long and trying road ahead.
On October 25, 2019, Shannon was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, which has spread to her liver and lungs. Since her diagnosis, she has been back to see her medical team numerous times to get a full understanding of the extent of the cancer and to discuss the best approach for treatment. Starting the week of November 11, Shannon will begin an aggressive treatment plan, which will include a combination of chemotherapy, radiation and medication.
Due to the effects of the cancer symptoms and the unknown results of treatment, Shannon has taken a leave from work to spend more time at home with her husband Bill, and sons Miller (6), Meyer (4) and Morgan (4) and to focus on battling this disease.
They are in need of our thoughts, prayers and support. Please rally behind the Matzke family and donate what you can to help alleviate some of the financial stresses they will endure throughout this journey. The financial support will be put towards accumulating medical expenses, ongoing treatment, recovery and general living expenses.
