Mended Wing Theatre Company is an ensemble comprised of seven recent graduates and current BFA students from North Carolina School of the Arts, School of Drama.
The program for our inaugural season this summer includes a 45-minute interactive production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, a talk-back with the cast, and workshops on the importance of theatre in today's society.
We will be touring around to various public schools in the state of Georgia-- specifically Macon, Brunswick, and the metro-Atlanta area. Our program runs May 8th through May 19th of this year.
This project was born out of a desire to bring classical theatre to public school students in a format that is relevant and stimulating for modern young audiences. In addition, we see this as a chance to encourage the next generation with overarching themes of hope, compassion, and acceptance.
We need the funds in order to pay for travel and production costs as well as housing and food for the company. This is all to ensure that we can bring our performance and program to the schools free of charge.
