Shaka's New Life!

I came across this beautiful stray boy 2 days ago and will be needing help to get him the medical attention he needs!
Background- he is micro chipped. However, the owner was called and no answer. No voicemail set up to leave a message. The Vets office and company that runs the micro chip took my info should they get a hold of him. They were able to tell me that he is a rescue, is 2 years old and his name is Shaka. However, he was never neutered.
He is absolutely AMAZING. One of the sweetest, calm and most loving dogs I've been around. Such a baby and loves cuddling. He follows me around wherever I go. Absolutely Loves people and gets along great with dogs, which we have brought him around a few now.
Shaka will definitely need vet care. I'm trying to take him for a check up next week but it looks like it will run me around $100 just to have him looked at! As I'll most likely have to do a walk in because vets are booked up for a while.
He has open wounds (one on his elbow crease that is leaking with puss) and sores both new and old all over his body. My mother and myself removes ticks from his ears and possibly has mange under his neck and belly. All in all, I can see the. Vet expenses building up quick! I took a guess at what it may cost and should it not be this expensive, every extra dollar will be donated to a local rescue organization!
I will not take him to a regular animal shelter, considering pit bulls don't do well there. And most rescues won't even consider taking him until after the waiting period for the original owner to claim him. PLEASE share and any donation is greatly appreciated!
