THIS RUN IS NOT ABOUT ME...
I will complete this run to honor a friend of mine who will not be here to cheer me on. His name was ALEX BAHMANDEJI and he served along side me during my last deployment to Iraq in 2007. You see “BAM” as we all called him returned to the states after our deployment but he never really made it home.
WE LOST HIM IN DECEMBER OF 2014.
His mother Maggie found a way to keep his light alive by founding THE SGT BAM FOUNDATION.
This foundation exists to support our military veterans living with PTSD, to serve our VETERANS and their FAMILIES when in need, and to HONOR those we have LOST (like BAM himself) so they will NEVER be forgotten.
The 3TV PHOENIX HALF MARATHON takes place in Phoenix, Arizona just ONE WEEK before VETERANS DAY so it is the perfect opportunity to not just SAY thank you but to SHOW your support for our veterans.
