Band Instruments Needed

As many of you know, band programs in Title 1 schools often do not have much funding, but these programs are so very important to the success of our students.  They give hope where there might not be any.  They give students a place to go and a positive community influence.  They improve focus and academic performance.  

My student is a 6th grader this year at VMS entering band.  He has an instrument.  However, for the first time, I am seeing up-close how hard our band director, Ms. Huss, and her crew work for their students.  For the first time, I am seeing up-close students who want to participate but as of yet, do not have an instrument and might not be able to stay in band.   The instruments purchased would be loaned to students and stay in rotation at VMS.

I am already seeing the benefits of band with my own child and want that for my extended family of kids at VMS.

We are hoping to raise the money as soon as possible to get instruments in the hands of students.  

We would love to have instruments as well.  If you have one you would like to donate, please bring it to the front office at Valdosta Middle School and let the receptionist know it is for Ms. Huss, our band director.
