74 Animals Rescued from Hoarder

At least 74 animals were rescued from a hording situation in Steger IL.  27 dogs, 6 puppies, 4 cats, 25 chickens, 1 pony, 2 canaries, a cockatoo and a sun conyer were found living in squalor.  These animals are suffering from  conditions such as anema, flea infestations, scabies, mange, testicular cancer, mammary cancer, maggots, worms and earmites.  One dog has two broken legs that were not set and healed in a bow-legged position.  Another dog has office staples in his head.  Yet another has ribs that were broken and healed with the bone sticking out of his side.  Some needed blood transfusions on site.

The animals have been taken back to Settler's Pond Animal Shelter. 



Once these animals are treated, healed up, socialized and neutered/spayed they will be available for adoption.  But we need help getting treatment.
