Service dog for Eduardo

This fundraiser is to help raise money for a young man, Eduardo Gonzalez. As a senior in high school, Eddie has a difficult time coping with daily tasks due to his double diagnosis of Autism and Epilepsy. His family has decided to pursue a service animal (dog) to aid him in his daily routine. Eddie is an animal lover and would benefit immensely from having a service dog to call his own.

His seizures are unpredictable and have been known to occur when he is in public, at school, or in his home. Eduardo is not able to recognize when they are coming and when a seizure has passed he is incredibly tired. Having a service dog that will be trained to detect when a seizure is coming would allow Eddie to live a safer, more predictable life, where he could potentially spend more time out in the community. While I will not bore you with the exact DSM- V definitions of Autism or Epilepsy, I will point out that the ability to socialize is difficult for a young man like Eduardo. Having a service dog will give him companionship and potentially improve his confidence. Please consider helping with what you can and/or sharing this fundraiser to assist his family in providing him with a service dog. I will include a link to the organization that will be housing and training the dog for a year. The cost for the entire process is $9,000.

Estamos haciendo una recaudacion de fondos para un perro de servicio por Eddie. El es un joven de 17 años, el tiene varias discapacidades entre las que destaca el autismo y las convulciones. Estas vienen sin previo aviso poniendo en peligro su seguridad y su integridad como persona. El disfruta mucho de actividades fuera de casa le gusta mucho nadar lo cual puede causar un grave peligro ya que dentro de la piscina tiene convulsiones poniendo en peligro su propia vida. Esto es algo que como padres nos preocupa mucho y creemos que sería de gran ayuda si el tuviera un perro de seguridad este le daría a el una gran ayuda al predecir que viene una convulcion ya que nos ayudaría a tenerlo seguro y cuidarlo de cualquier golpe que pudiera recibir.

Con un perro el podría tener más confianza de pasear por las calles y socializar con las personas el es muy amigable con las personas al igual que con los animales. Nuestra meta es juntar $9,000 por el costo completo. Eso incluye el perro y entrentamiento de este mismo. Por favor considere ayudar con lo que puede y/o  compartir esta recaudación de fondos para ayudar a la familia a poveerle con el servicio de un perro.
