Sergent Jessica “Jess” Fischer of The Town of Madison Police Department breaking many hearts, loss her life to suicide Friday August 10th.  She was the protector and guardian of her family, friends, and community.  She loves to laugh, she was a kind soul, sensitive but mighty strong.  She was a proud servant of our community and truly cared for all.  She was charismatic and authentic.  She was human.  Now an angel.  We truly can not figure out how we will go on without her.  The sorrow is unimaginable but we have no choice but to try and heal with holding her in our hearts.  Jess has a wonderful daughter Lillian just a bit over one years old.  The mother of her daughter and love of her life Laurie aka “fancy” is beyond heartbroken.  Jess of course leaves on earth all her many friends and family, all who knew and adored her.  I am hoping to raise money for jess’s wife and daughter so they can have their needs taken care of while they head down the long journey of grief.  



Jess you were my beloved friend who became my life’s side kick and my family.  We will do whatever I can to take care of Laurie and Lillian for you so you can go Rest In Peace.   Thank you for protecting all of us.  I wish we could have protected you and your heart.  Buddy, you were a strong and courageous officer but most of all, you were human with heart.   We love you more than words.

Jessica Sue Fischer, age 43, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 10, 2018. She was born on July 24, 1975 in Green Bay. Jess was the wife of her beloved "Fancy" and mother of their daughter Lillian. Jess loved the Green Bay Packer Fan & watching with family & friends.
Sgt. Fischer proudly served the citizens of the Town of Madison as a patrol officer, detective, and sergeant for the past 13 years. Her service to the community was beyond reproach and she will truly be missed.
Sgt. Fischer received numerous awards during her tenure with the Town of Madison Police Department. One of her first awards was for a traffic stop, eluding and drug arrest in 2006. This case turned into Jess writing a search warrant and a larger drug seizure. She has received many letters from thankful citizens and appreciation for her work from other law enforcement agencies, Jess also received recognition for her work from the United States Marshal Service. Sgt. Fischer cared about kids and ran our Shop With A Cop program for many years.
On January 4, 2010 Jess was assigned to our Detective Bureau. She enjoyed this work, but really missed patrol and working directly with our citizens. Due to her abilities, work ethic and personality Jess was promoted to Sergeant on May 2, 2016. She served in this role until death with distinction and honorably.
Jess is survived by her wife Laurie Weaver & daughter Lillian Grace, mother, Sandy (Larry) Vine and her father, Michael Fischer, sister, Marsha (Brad) Martin and nephew Kyle Fischer. Mother-n-law & father-n-law, Madeline & Marvin Flogel, sister-n law Nicole Doyle, brother-in-law William Flogel, nephew Ryan McGovern and extended family father-in-law Charles Weaver, sister-n-law Kaicy Weaver.
Jess loved dressing up for Halloween her favorite holiday & lighting fireworks on the 4th. She loved all her friends at Club 5, a place she called home. "Don't Stop Believing" #fiveforever
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie. A visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m on Tuesday August 14, 2018 at the Funeral Home and from 10 a.m until the time of service on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to Jess's daughter Lillian Grace.
