Rocky Mountain French Bulldog Rescue needs help for two senior Frenchies!
We just got back from Kansas where we were called for two senior French bulldogs. The small town shelter had picked them up as strays. Because it was a small town, the shelter knew their story: Taz and Bridgette had been passed around and around in all sorts of horrible homes. The shelter had intervened in the past because the poor pups were locked in a bathroom and starving. The owners passed the dogs off to a friend. Eventually, Bridgette and Taz were found wandering the streets alone, starving, and scared. They were held in an outside pen at the shelter for two months while the sheriff decided if they should press charges or not. They decided not to and told the shelter to euthanize Bridgette and Taz. Instead, we were called in.
The vet is estimating these old sweeties to be 8-9 years old.
Taz's teeth are rotting out of his mouth. His dental bill will be close to $3000. And the poor guy lost an eye at some point by being attacked by another dog.
Bridgette has a large mass on her rear that will need to be removed and biopsied in addition to her dental.
Both dogs are as sweet as can be. They want love and cuddles. While they were at my house, they seemed to be enjoying human affection for the first time. They have been so neglected, there is no way RMFBR will turn them away. We will do everything we can for their golden years to be bliss.
RMFBR is in dire need. We did not raise enough funds for Phoebe (the cart girl from Seattle) and do not have any funds for these sweet old pups.
Please, if you have a few extra dollars, send them to Taz and Bridgette. They truly deserve it.
