Send Kristen to AFI Fest 2017

I've been fortunate to write film criticism and pop culture essays for over ten years. My work has been published on Film School Rejects, TCM Backlot, Shondaland and Heat Vision, to name just a few. There aren't many physically disabled pop culture writers out there, and I hope to both enlighten and inspire others to believe they too can become writers despite limitations.

Regarldess of my disability, I try to do what I can for my work. This year I've done a lot of traveling, whether it's going to L.A. for a Sofia Coppola interview or New York City to see Hamlet. But, of course, travel costs money and this year I got a great opportunity I could use your help for. 

I was given press credentials for the first time to cover AFI Fest in Los Angeles. This is a HUGE opportunity, especially for a handicapped film critic just trying to make it alongside countless others. Now a trip to L.A. is nothing, but it comes at a bad time for me moneywise and I'm not forced to ask for donations to offset costs. All donations will go towards my travel costs - hotel and airfare mainly - as I cover the festival from my wheelchair.
